Recipe for Success: Jalepeno Cheddar Bread
Jalapeno Cheddar Bread
This month, our compliance officer, Sherry, shares another one of her famous recipes; Jalepeno Chedder Bread.
RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 3 tsp. rapid rise yeast
- 1 Tbsp. & 1 t sugar
- 1 C. jalapeno juice (or juice and water to make 1 c) heated to 110°
- 1 Tbsp. oil
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 C. chopped Mazetta jalapenos – pickled, tame or hot
- 1 C. sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 C. flour
Step One:
In kitchen aid or large bowl mix by hand the yeast, sugar, and jalapeno juice (heated to 110°), cover and let rest for 5 minutes, will be bubbly.
Step Two:
Add oil and salt
Step Three:
With dough hook on kitchen aid or mix by hand – add flour, jalapenos and cheese. Knead for 8 minutes
Step Four:
Place and turn in a greased bowl, turning until all sides are greased, Cover, Let rise for 60 minutes.
Step Five:
Punch down, form in desired shape, please in bread pan, cast iron skillet, or dutch oven, cover. Let rise additional 30 minutes or until double in size.
Step Six:
Bake at 450 degrees for 23 to 25 minutes. Tap and it will sound hollow when it is done.
